Toyota 2FG20:
Hydraulic issues please help.

I have a Toyota 2fg20 forklift we have had around the shop for several years. The hydraulics have all ways been a little sketchy. Then it sat for about a year and when I went to use it the thing would barely go up at all. Then I noticed if steering wheel was turned all the way to lock it would make the forks jump up just a little bit when i would let go of wheel. I put an overhaul kit in the main hyd. cntrl valve and it work but not perfect. but before i did that i changed all filters the one in tank hyd. was covered in a film and a little dirty cleaned tank. It worked for a while then not at all. Any help would be sooo appreciated. cant find manuals on this thing anywhere Thanks, Ron

If you can get the full model with serial number I can get a picture breakdown off the valve.

Thanks so much for the reply. the priority valve must be in the hyd cntrl valve not on pump is it possible to bypass steering to check circuit when i plugged the ports it built enough press as to lock against engine so that wont work. lol

I would look at the priority valve. May be stuck in the steering flow. It will be located either in the end of the pump housing or control valve in the main section.
