Light on solid or blinking?
since we're on the subject here... i started the CAT GP25K forklift and it started fine but with the RED exclamation poin light on the dash. it also was running high on RPM at idle ( 1200 or so ) then the RPM's went up to about 1500 for a few of seconds. all this time you have no throttle response. then the idle went down to about 850 rpms (all this on it's own) and the RED light came off and the throttle response worked. any ideas???
CAT GP25K AC17C serial with the Tier 1 LP gas system.
Not heard anything,But the men at my branch are learning mire on the new systems. And I dont answer as many calls on them. Also I have been sent to a new customer with about 30 Fortis trucks that have 10000 plus hrs on them and were not maintained well before we got there.I will check back and let you know monday
Hello Proshadetree, I trust you are doing well.
Has this lift given anymore trouble or did the trim valves take care of it?
Truck still running good but Im very interested on what you have found to cause this problem.I didnt post on this before but maint at factory had already replaced vaporizer , diaphram in carb, plugs, wire, cap and rotor.
So I didnt even susspect those,As it still had original problem.I have had sevral vaporizers go bad but they just acted diffrent. Thanks in advance Mike
Spectrum is OE on this truck.Changed trim valves on it and now it runs like new. Truck has 7800+hrs on it.Not my favorite system but dont think its bad enough to change. Also had 1 customer want to take teir 1 off his truck but cat would not give written permission.Which i not sure is required but
on these new systems we need to figure how to make them right,As most customers in my area wont foot bill for a total retrofit
shade tree dont waist your time with the spectrum system. install a ca100 and be done with it. you'll get more power from the engine you can adjust the emissions and all your nightmares will go away,i have done it several times on the mitsubishi trucks!
On the top of mxer the security bits can be removed with the proper torq bit. After removing top cover and diaphramn either look straight across the top of mixer horizonally or gently drag a small straight edge across. What your are looking for is in the very center where the cone of diagphramn goes in there is a plastic insert that may be loose or slightly risen. This is not suppose to be loose at all and if so can interfere with flutter of diaphramn. Other than this I would look closely or spray for vac leaks.
Hope this helps
