Discussion:
will not turn on/start up

Hello all

I have a DSS300 2006 vintage that will not turn on, like there is no power on the truck. 36.6 volts at the battery and to the corresponding inputs to the truck management module.
Ohmed out the ED and key switch (checked good), checked all fuses in the module (FU1-6) all good. checked for power from the management module to the key switch and the ED. had power to them earlier in the day, but when I went over the checks I made with another tech to verify my findings a few hours later there was no battery voltage to the corresponding connections from the management module.

Considering the module cost $3000.00 and is special order from Raymond factory, I figured before pulling the trigger on buying a non returnable 3k$ part, i would ask around here what the resident experts thought.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Just wondering what you eventually came up with as a solution, or are you still looking?

Couple of areas to look.
1. I've seen the actual battery connector fail or push the wires out of the plug. It'll mess you up all day, especially on the DSS's

2. Emergency Disconnect can get flaky. To test just bypass it. I've had them Ohm/Measure good and be bad with current.

3. Did you check ALL the fuses in the VM? There are some small ones as well.

I have pulled power from batt.Ran to key and seen these trucks take off.Cust didnt care is it worked or not because parts was so high they wasnt going to fix unless it was cheap.I had 36v showing but it wouldnt power up.After running a fused wire all pulled up.Done 3 trucks all worked.
Dont try without a fuse 5 to 10 amp.

Fact of the week
Every year for Thanksgiving, the President of the United States is given a live domestic turkey by the National Turkey Federation (NTF). While these turkeys used to be slaughtered and eaten, during the presidency of George H. W. Bush it became standard practice for the president to issue a ceremonial "pardon" to the turkey.
