Discussion:
Hard Direction Change

Hello all,
Hopefully we have some old school techs around or some vastly knowledgeable techs in general.
I have a very old Raymond 112TM-FRE60L serial #112-92-10325. We really only use this machine to help our employees gather merchandising items in our small warehouse before they start their day. The problem with the machine is that it doesn't seem to have opposite directional braking like our newer machines. If you're at slow speeds its not really an issue. However if you reach max speed and then try to reverse your direction to help slow you down the machine violently just switches to the opposite direction and almost throws you off. The only way to safely stop the machine is to let off the throttle and coast, or to slowly raise or lower the handle and use the mechanical brake. I'm not familiar at all with this machine or brand, so I don't even know if this machine worked like our newer ones do.
Any information or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
