Discussion:
uncontrolled lift or reverse, code 80, 81

I have an intermittant code 81 with occasional uncontrolled lift, even once when I was off the deadman. Twice uncontrolled reverse then code 80, and a few times the code 81 also had a reverse creep. Thoughts?

yeah i'm with raytech on this one, with all that happening a relearn would only be a temporary fix at best i believe. I'd be willing to bet when you pull up the voltage outputs in the maintenance menu for the lift and travel pots your going to see alot of wandering voltage readings which indicates the pots are either bad or the handle bushings are shot allowing alot of unwanted movement. (the handle will not keep the pots centered in neutral position causing unwanted movement). Seen this alot on the Ray/Cat trucks and almost always had to replace the pots or the handle with a reman handle.

In any case your in a dangerous situation with that happening and need to fix this asap ;o)

If its anything like the 7400-7500 then Id re-learn the controls in the comp and check both ends of the handle cable. had a few of mine go bad right at the handle from a lot of use and bending
