Edward you are correct. from what you are describing those are the connections I cleaned. I have also thought about the battery as well. We have two of these machines I guess its time to start swapping parts. Also the no reverse condition started again on fri night a few twists of the throttle and it came back on. Everything else concerning the potentiometer seems good (ie forward speed) possibly dirty contactor as lift01 said maybe twisting the throttle ets some voltage flowing across contacts??? Thanks Ill swap batterys first.

I know liftwe01 can answer for his self, but the "electrical distribution board" that I think Lifter01 is discussing is in the tractor section, near the motors, on the operator's right hand side when facing 'forward' (away from the forks,) or on the left when looking straight at the front of the machine, and has rows of wires that plug into it all around the outside of the board. the board is about 8"x13".
Daviga, when you say you "cleaned all the contacts on 'traction control card' " are you referring to the ev100 logics control card? Since that card is mounted somewhat behind the distribution card, you should have most likely pulled loose and re-plugged all those connections.
I Know that this may seems 'off the wall" but what is the state of this battery. I have seen failing batteries cause the seemingly intermittent brake module failure as they -start- to drop/loose voltage, even though it is not enough of a voltage drop to cause the lift cut out to cut off hydraulic lift power (it may be that someone had over adjusted the lift cutout to allow too much operation with a poor battery).
I am a big believer in always starting trouble-shooting with a known good power source.

also lifter01 which electrical connector strip are we referring , the one inside the platform under the controls or the one in front under hood by electric motors and controllers.

it has a code 215 in memory, which I caused the other day by having the drive wheel off the ground. According to posts on this it is something to due with the wheel turned hard left and not seeing any resistance because wheel was not on ground.... Thanks.

The first thing to do is to take off and clean all the connections on the electrical distribution board theses can be very problematic on theses older sp's. What error code are you getting????

Thanks much for your reply. Reverse, forks first. Machine also has intermittent brake problem , changed dead man switch but did not help. Felt both issues might be related so I cleaned all contacts on traction control card and now have reverse working. Im not sure I actually fixed it or is it a fluke as the intermittent brake problem is still there. BTW the brake control module has a yellow fault light when the brake problem is happening. I have two machines I was thinking of swapping traction modules to see if the problem, follows the module or not. model is sp3220-30 sn 1A269561. Thanks again.

define reverse as "forks first" or "forks last", and please a full model and serial number.

you probably need to replace the directional contactor assembly, if it works good in 1 direction but not the other, and the directional contacts are clicking or pulling in.
