Discussion:
thinking of buying a Clark C20b lift

I am trying to find a small lift for my shop. I am a one man operation and sometimes need to move heavier things. I have found a older C20b locally. The complete serial number is C20B 310 779 766. The plate says it is a 2000 lb capacity. From the data plate I think it will raise to 153 inches. Does anyone know about these machines and what is the value. It is currently not running. The owner states he was using it and it just died. I know not alot of information but maybe a value for a running one and then I can try to figure out a value from that.

C20B's were a great machine in it's day- which was about 40 to y50 years ago. Machine was made somewhere between 1960 & 70- ballpark.

Most usual parts are still available- value would be scrap value- maybe $500.00. I'd check the distributor rotor while cranking- the snout of the camshaft can shear off. If the rotor's not turning while cranking, the camshaft is the culprit.

If the cam is broken- pass on the lift. Engine replacement would be your only answer
