Discussion:
kalmar transmissions

got a kalmar DCD 70-6 S.NO. T321031493.
Driver says it sluggish in first gear only when in auto?
picks up fine when just put in first gear.
I know theres settings in the dash but scared to adjust without info and not sure how adjust if adjustment is required.
Has anyone got any info or ideas?

Got the access codes. Have set up the thottle before on other trucks when they have needed it and checked fault codes.Did try a few years ago to copy one set of transmission set ups from one truck to other once but seem to make it worst so just re-entered the same settings. Hoping someone might have the set up procedures to email me as i think it might need to be set up to that truck?

you will need an access code to get in the ecs (cant give it out sorry)
might help also to have the manual with you so you wont wack up the settings :)

but yes you can change the way it reacts when in auto shift mode

Your truck should have a display (ECS) and it will show the gear selected and the direction, 1F for 1st forward. In auto the gear lever is left in 3rd and it will start off in 1st or 2nd depending on how it is set-up and shift up as the travel speed increases. There maybe a setting you can change by scrolling through the display but I think you will need a code to get into the set-up menu's, this maybe available from Kalmar but I am not sure if they will give it out.
