Discussion:
purchasing

Hello - I am interested in purchasing a used (2-4 years old) forklift - 5000 lb capacity, electric. Have been dealing with a few sales reps - one is trying to sell me a new Shangli that is running in the same price range as a number of the 3 & 4 year old models, This rang a warning bell, so I asked one of the other reps who indicated that it is a fly by night operation, I won't be able to get parts in 5 years if something goes wrong, etc, etc. Given that he's a salesman, protecting his own interests (as he should) - I thought I would ask on here to see what you have to say about Shangli lifts - any feedback?

I totally agree with feitor- cheap price can be expensive in the long run with limited dealer support. Make sure there's a parts/service network in your area.

Customers love technology- until they have to pay to fix it!
I would remind you that, besides the already stated, you should keep in mind how many hours per day you gonna do.
For heavy duty,i personnaly wouldnt recommend that. And their batteries(chinese too)generally after 4 or 5 years are dead!
Remember you can save now but only for short period time.
Best regards.

Verify what their local parts, service support is and ask for local references (company, name & tele.) of other users in your area. Low initial price doesn't not necessarily mean you will get top level product support and timely warranty response to keep you up & running.
Verify that the battery being offered is readily available in the US - often batteries are not a size common in N.America which will make getting a replacement or a cell replaced difficult & expensive.
