Easy fix no one has talked about on this thread caused by making an easy mistake when not paying attention while installing a coil. I have nissan cls60 and I was getting the same code 34. Found one coil was not working correctly from unplugging them all 1 by 1. When I got to the one in question it didn't change the way the lift was running. So changed it out with 3 different ones I had laying around. Still didnt fix the missfiring problem. Turns out the mechanic that worked on it put the coil in and missed the spark plug. And I did the same thing 3 times. I finally looked more carefully and used my hand to push it up to not miss spark plug. And then started it up and it ran great. Problem solved. Hopefully this helps people out.

I am having the same problem. Tied starting the lift on one coil. lift does not start on any one coil. plug all of them in and it runs rough, start unplugging one by one, lift dies after two unplugged. getting code e34 on the dash, ignition signal circuit malfunction. Help Please. Thanks

Both the crank & cam shaft sensors are sending signals to the ECM. The way to ck the coil packs is as follows: Removing 3 of the 4 coil packs at a time. The engine will run on 1 individual coil and eventually smooth out. Repeat this step till you have tested each coil to run the engine. When the engine dies on a specific coil, replace the coil, clear the code and run the truck to check your work. Good Luck and Good Service to you.
In your experience , how would the coil pack br tested and is there a sensor to be checked also. Does the crank sensor send a signal to the computer to fire the coil pack ?

The answer to your question is E34 is saying that the Engine Control Manager (ECM) is not seeing an ignition input signal continuously while the engine is running. This signal is generated by the coil packs and is sent to the ECM.
