get error code 35 non communication with control

Ordered controller $500 had Crown take a look said it was slave controller. Now should I try to install, it look like about 1/2 day job to remove the panel holding both controllers to get to the bottom bolts of the controller. Is there any programing need if new controller is set for slave for which I am replacing?
