Discussion:
Yale GC060VX lifting points

I have a customer that needs to lift a GC060VX Yale onto an upper level floor in a manufacturing plant. The only way to get the lift truck onto the floor is with a crane. Typically there is information in the manual on recommended lifting points and rigging. I have not found this info. Any ideas? I even called the Yale dealer and havent heard back yet. They say they are looking into it.

thanks, found out Yale makes a three point harness to lift the forklift. It cost about 1100 dollars and isn't a stock item, its made as ordered.

Lots of Forklifts have front lifting points at the top of the mast, the rear points tend to be on the counterweight or sometimes on the aft end of the Cab
They are normally marked with a hook sign
are these not for lifting the whole machine ?!!!
Hope this helps

1. Such a field modification needs to be approved by the manufacturer & performed by an authorized representative (typically a dealer).
2. Lift eyes & /or points are most commonly installed as a "factory installed" option for P/L reasons.
3. In 41 year+ spent in the lift industry can't recall seeing lifting points called out in a manual - unless it was for a special units designed for stevedore operations & or military use (typically the Navy). Used to write manuals (operators, parts, service / maintenance manuals).
