Discussion:
pressure readings in CAT DP40 3CM13268 transmission

Hi guys. Anyone knows what pressure readings should be taken from a Cat DP40 transmission? Truck is barely moving once started, but does work OK when temperature raises.
Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers,

The main pressure should be between 142 and 177 psi. The same pressure should also be found at the F/R clutch packs.
All tests should be carried out at 1600 rpm.

Change the oil and clean/replace the strainer. Double check that the external steel pipe from the strainer to the pump is not damaged and drawing air. I can get you the pressures but as it works OK when hot I doubt you have a pressure problem.
