Do you think this would be a good setup for a van inverter?

then the only question would be to use a large enough (amp capacity) relay. I would also make sure the relay was rated as "continuous duty" and not intermittent duty

the relay would allow the leisure battery to charge when the engine is running.

since the switch is between the "main" battery and "leisure" battery, the leisure battery will not get charged by the vehicle charge system and will be able to be run down by the inverter.

Maybe the negatives should be connected and not running through Earth?
