Discussion:
Maintenance Required Light

2015 model, 2,600 total hrs, 1,900 traction hours.

Turn the key on, it automatically says "charge battery" and then says "maintenance required". All three LED's are lit.

Charge battery up, shows 24.6 volts, no change. Hooked it up to another known good battery, same thing.

Truck is in limp mode, will drive slowly but no lift.

Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks!

Inane,

Using the program through the computer, the BDI has 5 different settings. Each setting is normally changed over time when the lift is first purchased. 25.6 volts is a little low to reset the BDI. What battery do you have in it and what is the fluid level of each battery. If you have 4 lead acid batteries, you may need to remove cables and test each individually. One low battery could drag the voltage down. If the batteries all check good and you can pull up all battery settings, lower the BDI start up full by 1 to 3 and set the BDI reset to 45%. Good Luck.

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
Thank you fishmech.

I bought a Curtis full level 1313 handset last week. I was able to reset the maintenance minder and max out the hours where it shouldn't come back on. The red wrench light went out and no more messages.

The BDI still has me in limp mode. Battery is at about 25.6. I've been charging it with the onboard charger. Then, I tried charging it with a different charger by pulling it next to another truck. Finally, I plugged a different battery into this truck but getting the same BDI warning. I may have overlooked while digging around in the handset, but is this something I can reset with the programmer?

Thanks again!

Inane,

You will need a service tech to connect either a handset or computer to reset the maintenance reminder. Then you need to have them to turn it off. This will set so it does not return. There is no other way to reset. Good Luck.
