Discussion:
Crown sc4510-50 Error code 331

The lift seems to switch on normally. When the e-brake is toggled off the lift beeps like if you get off the seat without brake engaged. Drive does not engage in either direction. No hydraulics work. The event log only has 331, but i've cycled the key too many times to see any others if there were any. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for reading,

John

I was surprised to see that also. I cleared the codes and nothing popped back up so fingers crossed on the 331 code. All that was in the history was 20 instances of that.

Good to hear! I'm suprised a control cable back there became corroded, that is something I have never seen before!

I took the back panel off and a termination fitting coming off the seat with 3 wires looked highly corroded, possibly because one is aluminum and the other 2 copper. 1 wire broke away with little effort. I jumped the connection and the hydraulic motor turned on instantly. The bad connection is replaced. I'll clear the codes after the battery charges up to see about "331". So far it drives and operates.

Thanks

Some menus will either require you to be on the seat or off of it to appear. It is possible there is a bad seat switch. Sometimes the cables rub on metal parts inside the seats causing the cable to get cut. If the seat isnt depressed hydraulic functions will not work and if normally will set off an alarm and the screen should display "seat" to indicate there is no one on the seat. That is the best way to test the seat switch in my opinion.

I was unable to look at analyzer 2.2.x - the menu skipped from 2.1 to 2.3.

2.3.8 has pot1 = 0.25v

Looking at calibration menu 3.1 I did see c1 accel pedal. Scrolling to that brought up message - "Close seat switch".

The only 2 options showing in calibration menu is c1 accel pedal and c2 battery

It does seem the seat switch is not functioning correctly. I checked the ground attaching out of the seat to the rails because it looked corroded but had no effect.

Code 331 means the steering pot is opened or is shorted. I would enter the analyzer menu A2.2.8 and look at the display as you turn the wheel. Left is -90, 0 is center, 90 is right. If the numbers smoothly move up or down and don't jump, try recalibrating pot1 in the calibration menu (c3). If the numbers do jump around I have a few wire connections you can test voltages at.
