Toyota 8FD50U forks won’t lower, valve leaking hydraulic oil

Hello,

I have a Toyota model 8FD50U serial number 10996 forklift. After you start the forklift and raise the forks for the first time of the day, you have to hold the handle forward as if you are lowering the forks for 40 + seconds before they will lower, typically once you've done that the lift will raise and lower properly.

The control valve has two ports on top, one is flat/flush and has a Allen head and the other is a hex bolt that looks like a plug, the hex bolt one appears to leak hydraulic fluid. If the machine sits overnight it will leave a 3 inch diameter oil spot on the floor below.

I had the local dealer come check it out, when the tech hooked up the computer, he could raise and lower the forks without any problem electronically with his computer.

The hydraulic fluid level is good, the leak appears to have gotten worse recently. I can't get the dealer to call me back for service so I am trying to fix myself.

What could be the issue? Where can I purchase parts and a manual?

Thank you for your assistance.
