Sideshift moves by itself

Why would sideshift move to left automatically, would it be cause a pot in handle going bad or could other things cause this?

Yes it was pot 3. Accessory pot. Well thought it was it but doing it again

Two possible reasons for this: 1) the thumb wheel is not returning to neutral (stuck, doesn't not move freely) 2) the accessory pot needs replacing.
