Discussion:
Any practical F244 engine swaps for a Bobcat 970?

Hoping to get any ideas on a possible engine swap for this old bird. Machine itself is in pretty good shape, but the engine leaks/uses more oil than gas...... Plus it's a gutless wonder.

I know one can make almost anything work if one really wants, but not wanting the extreme, just if some of you guys have seen or done something like this.

Thanks

Been there, done that with my old ride. Check out this cool blog post I stumbled upon about mini excavator weights: https://www.boomandbucket.com/blog/how-much-does-a-mini-excavator-weigh. It might come in handy for your. As for the engine swap, I swapped mine with a gutsier one a while back. It was like giving my ride a shot of espresso - woke the whole thing up! Not sure about F244 specifics, but if you're not into extreme mods, there's gotta be a sweet spot. Maybe someone here has some golden nuggets of wisdom to share.
