HI there
This trucks is a dc truck which uses the 2 zapi traction and pump controllers and the zapi EPS steering controller.
The truck works drive hydraulics and steer, the only problem is that when you drive the truck fast and turn the steering the steer wheel does not turn fast enough.
We changed the Zapi EPS steer controller, tried adjusting the steer sensitivity settings to max along with steer speed setting to max.
We then tried changing the steering unit the tacho sensor.
We checked the motor brushes all fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated as it looks like we are at a dead end with this one. Perhaps a setting in the steer unit but I cant see this as tried a different controller also off the same type of truck.

when you say tacho sensor do you mean the 'tach generator' on the steering wheel? or the steer position sensor on the drive unit?
i had a similar problem with a truck and it turned out that the 'tach generator' on the steering wheel was not generating a good signal of 5v or more turning the wheel normally. This was causing the steering to malfunction because of the low voltage output even while turning the steer wheel fast. I went through the same troubleshooting problems as you by replacing the eps control and position sensor and all sorts of checks and adjustments before we figured it out consulting with a factory engineer.
That is almost the end but you are jump a very important thing every steer with taho-motor and Zapi EPS sistem must have points to work on some trucks is potentiometer on some switch and Zapi is in traction controller put some settings that you must to do for this command if you want to do right, that is for reason so when you try to go left or right speed get slow and steer must to work perfect in moment. For more info send me mail it is in profile.Good Luck
Radial bearing on top of the gearbox stiff /seizing up?
Might be worth checking if its a similar set up to other manufacturers.
