Discussion:
Steer motor non operative

We have tested the steer motor. 5 volts supplied, motor turning slow, found main contactor burnt and replaced. Truck ran fine for 5 days and now problem reoccured. No shorts found in steer motor itself.

park brake switch can also cause a problem. make sure it closes when released. probably no controller involved unless the unit has ehps (silent steering) option

went to site and the truck is running. Seems to be an intermittent and may be hard to diagnose... thinking it might be control card or resistor... does that seem reasonable or am I missing something?

if voltage is present at cables when activated (contactor on) motor is open. if not check fuse in contactor box. check park brake switch. ps inopertive unless switch is on.
