yep yep...
when that vaporizer/converter starts turning that purty white snowy color and looks like frost that's a bad thing ;o)
bad flow or just low coolant will certainly cause this.

Just ran around the block chasing similar symptoms on a Nissan- check the ignition spark- should be bright blue & be able to jump at least 1/2" w/out changing engine performance- check this at each plug- not off the coil. Never had a dist cap 'eat' spark before but this one was a challenge to find. 1 terminal in the cap almost totally dissipated all spark which didn't show any symptoms except when engine cold or under load. Woulda' bet the house there was a fuel issue.

When you say "found gassing fault, now cleared"... can you describe what it was and what you did to resolve it? Sounds like a fuel issue to me did you check and adjust the air fuel mixer(carb) sounds like might be starving for fuel.....

Fact of the week
The two internal cavities in our nose called nostrils function as separate organs. Each nostril has its own set of turbinates and olfactory receptors. The two independent organs work together through a mechanism called the nasal cycle, where one nostril is dominant for air intake while the other rests and is better at detecting scents.
