Discussion:
Setting speed warning on dash

Can one set the speed warning on the dash without using the sst? If so can anyone tell me where the procedure may be found?
Thanks in advance
Dave

only dealer tech's get the software when they take the service training. The software is embedded to the computer it is installed on and is non-transferable.

the only way you will get the speed setting change is to call a dealer and have them send a tech out to change it for you.

what edward says is true, earlier models required the VCM to be sent back to the factory but later tier2 and after the did make it possible to use the software/laptop to change the speed without sending the VCM into the factory.

need serial number...
but the answer is; no and no.
You need the computer and software hook-up.
Most of the older CARB tier1&2 MCFA trucks don't have a dash display speed warning, but a lot of them do have the ability to a control of motor speed based upon transmission sensor input speed.
the 2004 version trucks need an update to the VCM that often requires sending the VCM back to the MCFA factory, in order to enable the "speed control" in the software as it was an option [$].
