Clark C500 SERIES:
sequencing valve function

Hello I have the following questions about the sequencing valve:

1. what function does the valve do in the brake system ?
2. Is there any moving parts that need cleaning or replacing inside
the valve ?

Can anybody answer the questions ? Thanks in advance

1996 Clark GPX50. I'm the only user and only to unload oversized OSB once a month. Can I bypass the inching valve and lock out the left valve? I just need brakes. Old machine, been wrenched on a lot. there's no wire harness or electric. Three manual gauges for oil, temp and charging. Just need brakes.

Thanks

Thank you for your help and quick response mrfixit, I appreciate it very much. A new sequence valve cost about $200 plus tax and shipping. I have spent hours looking for a repair kit for the sequence
Valve with no luck, do you or anyone else out there know where I can purchase a repair kit or parts to fix the valve ? The Clark part number for the sequence valve is 790. Thanks again

I'll try. There are 2 master cylinders. The one on the right just applies the brakes. The one on the left operates a valve that releases the pressure in the transmission so you can rev the motor, while it is still shifted in gear, to operate the hydraulics at fast speed without shifting it to neutral AND also applies the brakes. To do that there must be a valve between the two master cylinders otherwise the brake fluid would just push from one master to the other. There is a piston in the sequence valve that moves to block the line to the right master when pushing on the left brake petal and blocks the valve to the transmission and left master when pushing on the right brake petal. It's similar to a master cylinder inside. If it doesn't work right, it can be rebuilt or replaced. Cleaning won't help. I've noticed when they fail they allow air to get into the brake system.
