I too have been pulling the wrench's on this stuff for 40 yrs. I cut my teeth on the C500s as I was employed for those years by the Canadian distributor J H Ryder who also became the Crown distributor (now owned by Crown). I've worked on many C5's and find them noisy and over engineered and the amount of warranty repairs were scary. When Clark was in their hay day and the trucks were north American made they lasted for ever...and I was told that's why they engineered the life out of them ! From what I've seen with the C5 that won't be a problem they have short life built in
