since it seems to be intermittant on the acceration still have you noticed any other fault codes come up?
just by disconnecting the battery and clearing them that way may not get rid of them in the ecm memory. Some hard stored codes may not be showing on dash display but may still be in the history and could keep the truck from returning to normal operation. They usually still display on the dash though.
Being that your still having the acceleration issue you should get the pc diagnostic program and monitor the throttle body sensor and make sure its getting to 100%, there have been issues with these also causing that very problem you are describing now.

Have you seen any intermittent E-31 codes?

You already addressed the E-23 code but there still could be problems in the TB.
