Its fairly old has got a sensor on the steering coloum with a round magnet in the middle as you move left or right an actuator lifts up or drops down slightly to tell the motor what direction to rotate. There is an amplifier under the plastic arm rest next to the rest of the electrical components and that has the segment display with error codes etc.

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
