Commanly what happens, the forklift is used like a track machine and operaters do alot of pushing of pallots in the forward motion. This will ware out the forward clutch packs and leave the reverse intacted. The only issue I dont understand is, when the machine gets hot, the pressures should drop as oil is bypassed in the packs. But I have seen it both ways, where at cold start, for some reason the oil pressure is not enough to operate the truck. Maybe its a weak trany pump or torque convertor, in which case both for and rev will be affected. Perhaps one direction more than the other due to pack ware.
