I have a year 2008 Tusk 8,000 lb LPG lift truck that is outfitted wtih a Nissan TB45. I had the motor seize up due to lack of oil. When the dealership took the truck to their shop they found stretch film had covered the oil pickup screen inside the oil pan. The lip seal behind the balancer in the front of the engine had failed and stretch film could be seen by the seal and around the shaft. I called an old friend in the industry and the service manager at his company said he specifically remembers Nissan putting out a service bulletin on the TB45 engine that specifically talked about the need to install a shield of somekind to prevent debris in the engine compartment from getting behind the balance wheel and cause damage to the seal. Since this is exactly what happened to my truck and I know that I never got any shield i think i shoud not be 100% responsible. Especially considering I bought the truck and always had a full service maintanance plan with the dealer. They want about $10,000 to fix. My friend could not find the service bulletin so after hours of searching online I decided to join the forum and post my questions. Has anyone heard of this issue with the TB45 before? Where can I find Nissan bulletins? thanks

Fact of the week
In March 2002, identical twins in Finland died on the same day in similar accidents within hours of each other. A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
