I know when I started in this industry many years ago it was mostly white guys that turned the wrench's but over the years the demographic has reallly changed to a hispanic base. I actually make fun of it cause when I ask a customer who came out here last and they say a white guy it is easy to narrow down who it is as there are only three of us at the company I work for, if they tell me it is a hispanic guy with a mustache well that is the rest of them.

I know this is going to sound bad but what other job can you get that requires no college education and make decent money at it? If you can think thru a problem and visualize the flow of electicityyou can fix a forklift. I personally find this job easy and not much of a challenge any more but for $31 and hour I know is way more than I could make doing anything else with a 2 year college education.
