If I understand you correctly, in England if one writes (or types) the letters it is being spelled rather than spelt. Seems to be the same way here. It is very hard to write (or type out loud). Yes I fully understand your last statement. And my response is professionals have tried to insult me and have failed so you really didn't have a chance of hurting my feeling (I only have one).
