The leak should be transmission. You will need to use a funnel that fits inside the dipstick tube to fill. The fluid used is Sheel Donax TD, John Deere tractor oil J20C or Hygard Fluid. If the fluid looks red, someone has added dexron to it. You should have an operator's manual attached to the back of the seat that list most fluids. The year of the lift is 1997. Good Luck
