Hi all,

I recently bought an M80 8000lb Cat forklift. Been running it for 3 weeks, very light use. I bought a charger for it the other day and got it hooked up but it won't charge the forklift. I've checked the power in/out and everything seems correct but when I plug in the forklift, nothing happens. I expect the contactor to click after 5-10 seconds but nothing. No amp draw on the charger either. Any ideas?

Background: Bought the forklift from a retailer, they fixed the brakes then gave it to me. Said they charged it fine, and even used it around their facility. It's a 48v.

Charger is 208v 3 phase charger. I have it hooked up to exactly that. I am getting 48v output. I've tested all of the contacts and they all show the proper voltages, and it shows 48v out when it's plugged in. The charger is a Hertner Auto Charger 1000. Model CTN-24-550. The previous owner of the charger said it worked fine, they just got a new forklift so they didn't need this one anymore. He was even kind enough to come take a look to see if I had everything hooked up properly. Him and my electrician both confirmed it was.

Thanks in advance.

Fact of the week
Funerals in Spain typically occur within 24 to 48 hours of death, whereas in other European countries they wait one or more weeks. This rapid timeframe is a cultural norm grown from the past need to manage the warm climate without modern embalming.
