I had a customer a few years back had a lot of problems with the lower bearing cap that holds the drive unit to the undercarriage. The 5 allen socket head bolts were loosening and breaking off. Sounds like you are having the same problem, but the armature hitting in the motor sounds like a bearing problem in the motor. Good luck with this one
