there is a HPK document 000111-09C from 9/11/2009 that covers the motor cables issue.
There is also another HPK document that covers this code and an alternate 47 code in document 000075-10C dated 1/10/2011 that deals with Inverter issues. It explains problems with voids in solder points and poor connections in the inverter and also improper torque or the UVW connections. More specifically Drive board and U phase code 45.

So along with my suggestions and yours too he should find some sort of issue that would cause this code.

Another thing to consider that is possibly related is during installation and torquing of the terminals is if they are over torqued they can actually break the connection to the standoff inside the inverter. This is in coorellation to part of what the later hpk document covers about the under torque issues.
The document does not actually mention the standoff breaking but i have seen this many times.

But if you havnt checked the motor side of this that would be a good idea to do as well.
