E34 is Ignition system fault. The computer does not see a tach signal. Blown fuse or corroded wiring, relay bad. If no meter most likely wiring
Unplug each coil, use spark tester to see if it's just one bad coil or none are firing. Could be broken wiring to module.
If you fix it,code may stay and you need to clear. Under cup holder is an OBD2 plug. Use cheap scan tool to clear, or there is pedal dance
E38 is common too in cold, small fuel pressure sensor goes bad.
