Discussion:
Engine bogs

Rebuilt LPG converter. Replace throttle position sensor and scoped into intake to find that throttle valve closes when engine is running and throttle pedal is depressed. Is this a direct replacement of throttle body or should I be looking to another source causing the throttle plate to close on its own?
Make: Mitsubishi
Model:FG40KL1
Ser: AF29C50064
Engine: Nissan TB45L

Well I had a tech from Caterpillar look at it and he said the filter was plugged. He left and I replaced it...same problem. He returned and told me to disassemble the throttle body and clean it...same problem. The tech was stumped. He plugged into it and he pinned the throttle and said that he reset the perameters in the computer. He said by going wide open throttle you can reset your perameters. I didnt believe him and think he is still unsure how he fixed it but the problem has not come back. I also mentioned to him that the temp guage was not working and I figured it was perhaps the computer thinking it was cold and going into a 'warm up' mode and choking back the throttle body? The forklift has been operating for a few weeks now though. Sorry bud I cant really help. I think you need a tech to plug into it with cat software.

Hi Paul , I was wondering if you got to the bottom of that problem with TB45L mate.
Because I have one similar, except its a Cat, both Caterpillar and Mitsubishi have had Techs look at it and it is still strangling and slowly dies , like running out of gas!!
Any help would be really appreciated mate

Fact of the week
Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
