JLG 10054:
rear steer seal leaking

I cant seem to find any info on how to remove the rear steering shaft from the cylinder that is part of the axle housing on our 2008 skytrak 10054 fork lift. I have the shaft disconnected from the axle joint to the tie rods. I have removed the slotted nut from one side of the cylinder and the snap ring from the other side but am unable to get the shaft to pop out. I don't see what is missing. ive looked for a set screw of all types and found none. any help on the removal process would be greatly appreciated. the axle model is a MS-T3055 and serial # is 1566662

yes JLG's manuals section has a skytrak section, you will need your units serial number though to get the correct manual for your machine.

If you go to JLG USA website and then to the parts and service section they have all of their parts and service manuals on line that may help you which may show you how it is all held together.
