Hi,
I had a short in the lift motor, it caused the Q1 and REC1 to burn out.
I replaced them both, still had code 23.
I replaced the power card and the system card as well, and still have code 23.
I replaced/checked VFC with known working as well, still code 23.
I have gone through almost everything except TM (transistor module) and STILL CODE 23!!!
Any advice on what I should look at next, because this code 23 is killing me.
Lift/auxillary functions run, but the traction/drive functions do not and truck is immobilized by code 23.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I actually resolved this problem last week.
I don't remember exactly, but it was a combination of things, bad fuse, loose VFC, wrong diode shipped to me... among other things, but I ended up resolving it. Thanks to everyone who responded in the meantime though!
Do you have a known good truck there that you can compare the wiring on? Make sure the wires are hooked up proper on vfc mod etc... I'm going to see on today and will take some pics for you.
Replaced the capacitor today... Still Code 23
Swapped the power card and system card AGAIN today...
Later, I found the drive contactor fuse in the contactor box was blown... thought I had solved the problem for sure...
YUP! Solved my code 23 problem, but now I have code 25!
Short detected in field circuit, code 25...
This one is really getting to me!
yeah you need the rec to complete thecircuit.. sounds weird. call them and ask where he rec is. it should be a kit with both in them.
Hi,
1 - Horn is not shorted
2 - Power cable through transducer loop on power card is routed ok
3 - Motor cables not shorting out
4 - Motor is not shorted, in fact it just came back from another rebuild
5 - Power Loop checked, R1/R2 (two small gold resistors on the big heatsink) I checked the resistance on with an ohmmeter and it read 2.x ohms, so I think they're good
I'm running out of ideas, almost everything has been replaced.
I hot wired the traction motor yesterday directly to battery (full 24v) to see how it runs, and it seemed to spin way too slow; figured something must be wrong internally. Sent it out for a rebuild, the commutator was apparently in bad condition/blue from overheated. Came back today, put the traction motor back in, and still code 23...
When I first got 23, Q1 was obviously the culprit (could smell it was burnt) and when the new replacement Q1 came in from Raymond, it was slightly different. It didn't have a REC2; in it's place was a wire hooked up to TP5. Maybe this is the wrong Q1...?
Yea... Advice guys?
the odd stuff:
1. Is the horm shorted
2. Is the power cable through the loop on the power card the right way? wrong way will give you a 23
3. are the motor cables shorted out?
4. is the motor still shorted?
5. did you check the rest of the power loop? capacitor, r1 etc?
Ok...
Well I found the heatsink shorting out to frame, but I fixed the short, and I still have code 23...
No other shorts left on the car, and lots of new electronics...
IDEAS?
Well I read through that thread, and your posts as well, some good info in there.
I replaced the TM (transistor module) today as well, and still have code 23.
I just noticed I have a short somewhere between the big heatsink and the frame. I checked the insulation and all, but looks good, but I'm now going in for a closer look to see where the big heatsink could be shorting out.
See code 23 no-go from previous posts (Troy)
