Does anyone have a repair manual for this truck. There is an intermitten problem when the drive/steer wheel is or approaches straight position, the emergency brake soliniod engages stopping the truck. The drive motor still wants to go when accelerated but cannot due to the e. brake.

I would suggest checking the wiring to the brake. It sounds like the brake engages when the harness is twisted as the unit turns.

there was a service bulletin that came out in 1998 i think that addressed this issue. If the cable coming out of the speed sensor is gray and goes back to the Tractor Manager, then there is a fix that changes the cable and a speed sensor that has a 2 inch long pigtail. You should check the control cable that goes to the brake as well.

being that you did not mention it coding out or any alarms going off i think it would be safe to say that you have a issue on the drive unit area at the wiring harness. Check the harness where it connects the ebrake, could be a broken or shorted wire in harness and when its moving in that range of motion its causing the ebrake to engage.
