Hello have a h20evo 391. Keeps going into engine protection and also saying the engine temp is high. It sat the entire weekend and soon start it up a buzzer alarms and instantly says the truck is hot. Have no codes displayed besides when it goes to protection mode it shows 204.

Er reprogram can not connect with display, display also off with key on. Before swap everything works and truck goes on. VSM possible to download the hex package but dash not. Really strange

replace the temp sensor in cooling systeem. If you can measure the temperature of cooland with external measurement and it is not overheat the sensor give bad info. Easyer look in service diagnose wich temperature sensor give to ecm.
Yes D204.
The fan goes to high speed as soon as start the truck. Also the temp gage says it will be hot which in fact it is not.
You mean a D 204 code , T204 or L204 are different errors.
D204 say engine to hot. Check cooling fan behind engine rotate max speed. It is electric fan and pulsed controlled by the ECM module Linde. If not rotate at max speed ECM defective
