Discussion:
no traction error code 05 in display

Hi I have this problem with a crown fc4000 the machine starts, you have steering and hydraulics but no traction.
The display shows up the code 05 whenever you press the accelerator.
The forward reverse selector works well, the seat switch it's working properly..
I don't have any manual or info about this truck.

I don't have that manual in front of me, but I think Code -05 is an accelerator problem? The accelerator switch is not closing as the truck sees the accelerator potentiometer increase in counts. Both of them are right next to each other under the accelerator pedal. I work for Crown, but it has been a while since I worked on the older FC4000's. You can check your brake switch to see if it is stuck, but it is usually one of them. The brake switch when stuck for more than 3 seconds with the traction command given, will give a code too. Sorry, don't have that book available right now.

HAve you checked your batt restraint? Make sure it is installed properly and closing the switch.

05 is a batt restraint/brake code. Could be batt restraint switch not closed (restraint not properly installed). Might be bad switch too???

It could also be parking brake switch.
