Cat Lift Trucks (& Caterpillar) T30D:
no forward or reverse

North Carolina, United States I have an old cat T30D ser # 5GB 3385 type LP forklift. It started a while back intermittently not driving (trans not engaging or slipping). the forks work great. not sure if it is a clutch pack or electrical signal issue. A couple of forklift guys told me that there is a filter that you could check first and if that is not the case ---throw it away---where is that filter and is the advise true

If i remember right the parking brake switch is in series with the solenoid supply. Check there as well.

I'd start by checking the wiring in the forward/reverse selector then work your way down to the solenoids. Try bypassing or jumping the solenoid. you may want to put it up on blocks first cuz if it engages, could run ya over.

I am having the same problem. Good little forklift. Would really like to resolve this issue. Tranny felt strong even last week. I think it is just an electrical issue
