First of all I apologize if this is posted in the wrong category. My forklift is a Towmotor T40 which I believe was manufactured in the late 60's and the company became Caterpillar in the 70's? Anyway the brakes have gone out on this unit and I have no idea where to look for parts. The brake reservoir is full but still no brakes. I have not pulled the wheels. Is it likely the brake cylinder or the actual brakes themselves. Any input appreciated. Thanks,
Shane

ALSO......get new axle/hub seals and replace them, nothing worse than doing a brake job and then a axle seal starts leaking and ruins your brand new brake pads by oil soaking them...
Should be able to get parts thru any CAT forklift dealer or any local forklift dealer may be able to get them thru aftermarket vendors.....will need to give them the FULL model and serial number of the truck....if your going to do a brake job i recommend doing the WHOLE system....master cylinder wheel cylinders shoes and all hardware INCLUDING adjusters,no sense tearing it apart and having to do it again to replace a broken hardware component....also replace the park brake cables also while in there, know it sounds like alot but for the age of the truck and not knowing when it was last done is just an added bit of insurance....
