sure the bare block would fit in most machines that house a Vortec V6 block, it's the options and accessories that make the difference.
Update. The engine was not the right one. for this truck. needs HY3124588 is reman & new is HY383134
Power Solutions International. was a big help helping ID motor
It does fit other machines they have. a lot of things people do don't make sense!
it fits what it came out of ;o)
No disrespect- just doesn't seem to make sense to rebuild an engine to keep in stock for equipment it might not fit.
Did you make the customer aware that the rebuilt engine may not fit other equipment?
quoted customer both ways. I did find some numbers on block 10224534 indicates 93/1994 bought the 4.3LLT The customer wants new and have old one rebuilt for stock for other machines.
thanks for all replys
I always give a choice when pricing an engine- rebuilding theirs & an exhange unit. I advise them of the pros/cons of each choice & let them tell me which way to go.
I do prefer rebuilding theirs when possible. I know who's rebuilding it & there will be no installations issues.
oversize piston make the cilinders too close to each other for this typ of engine ! for warranty and prise it is better by new the difference is not large enough
yep i'm sure a rebuild of THAT motor would be cheaper than 118k by a longshot ;o)
Looking that up on TVH X-part and it shows a part # 1369493 for a 1994 model which crosses to that LLT motor you mentioned. The 1995 motor (1377796) also crosses to the LLT but the 1993 does not. What's wrong with fixing the motor that's in it?
the engine is rather old, there may be a chance the id tag is still on the block. If not then there should be some numbers stamped in it somewhere. IF there is a tag though it should have the year of mfg on it.
$118,594?
whoa!
did you tell the guy you just wanted a motor and not a whole lift? ;o)
sheesh thats high for a motor
talked with parts guy at hyster "S$S" he gave me part # 3182721R
I ran that thru TVH cost was $118,594.14 shows it to be R&R engine and no cross-reference to other numbers. R stands for year of manufacture does that mean it has a 1994 engine thats million dollar question
i'm sure because of the age of this truck hyster will have to be contacted directly to get the right information to get you the correct motor. The online database does not cover trucks this old via serial number entry.
I wouldn't trust TVH on this one either.
go direct to the source for your best results.
FYI A serial # ending in "R" is 1994
If you have to have brand new GM engine get a hold of the guys at Power Solutions International. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to the GM engines. Their website is wwwdotpsienginesdotcom replace the dot in the web address with a actual period.
Was going to order the GM4.3LLT from TVH, I have sent in a few requests asking if this is right motor and have not gotten reply back.
It says will fit 1997-2004 & 2008+
I have no idea what year this lift is by the sn; #
No, there are at least 5 different and not interchangeable 4.3 GM motors. you will most likely need the same -year- and an industrial or marine engine, make sure you save the crank case pan from the old motor.
