not trying to be a killjoy here but....
given the age of this lift
i'd check the price of what scrap metal is going for...
you could drain the fluids out, strip it down and take it to the scrap yard and prolly get alot more than $1500.00 for it
.......just a thought ;o)
Just list it on Craigslist in your area and start the price at about $1500.00. Lots of small Mom & Pop machine shops or small start-up companys jump on these at this price. Just make sure you have your companys legal department write up a good "As-is bill of sale" and make no claims for any type of warranty to cover both you and your company from any future action for claims of loss or damages.
If it's a usable piece then I think your best bet is list it on e-bay. Post some pictures & list the data plate information & take what you get. There's always someone looking for a cheap forklift.
As a minimum get the weight of the vehicle call the recycle yard and see how much they will give should get about $400-500 (after your drain all the fluids). It is almost 40 years old - old forklifts are not a collectors item.
To list it for sale you would include the make, model, capacity, whether it runs on gasoline or propane, solid tires, how high it will lift (should say on the ID plate), automatic or standard transmission, does it have a fork side shifter, and does it start up and go. It should have a 5R Toyota engine. It probably is early '70s but that really isn't important.
I was hoping to figure out the year and other important info to sell it...Owner of my company kind of dumped it on me to sell and I wanted know alil more about it before i listed it
You seem to have all the information you need to identify it from the ID plate. Was there any other questions you have about it?
the one in question is my avatar
