Discussion:
Mod 2 overheat

Ser # 2NR34377706
Dash displays Mod 2 overheat and machine goes into limp mod after one hour of operation.
This never happens when I am there but operator indicates that the cooling fans are very erratic, all four of them (sometimes never work or are on all the time).
Is there a central thermal disc , what controls the run time on the fans

Thanks Swoop
I was able to get the access code but I`m not familiar with this particular unit or the procedure to get into it. Does anyone have step by step to aid me with this.

the only alarm code i can find for a Mod2 temp problem is:
Mod2 Alarm 28. Has to do with the chopper temp being over 75deg Celcius. The unit stops at 100deg Celcius.

Mod2 Alarm 42 Motor Overtemp
Motor over temperature. If this happens when the
the motor is cold, check the wiring. If everything is OK, replace AC-2.

Then theres an Mod2 Alarm 55 for thermic sensor out of range.

without knowing which alarm it is it's kinda hard to know where to go from here, i'd be just guessing.

Correct Ser# 2NR3437706, I don`t have access to maintenance menus.
I will try to get the alarm code when the problem occurs

Thanks

first off this serial number is no good

even though it shows mod2 overheat there should also be an alarm code along with that
go back and double check and see what the alarm code is.
if you have access to the maintenance menus you can view the fault history and get the alarm code there and also see what other issues have been happening with the truck.

first get the right serial and that will help alot :)
