Discussion:
Linde H25T Temp Light comes on. Overheating?

Hello, I just bought this lift today. It is a H25T-03 Serial # 351J03121425.
Seems to have a VW engine from the looks of it. 21000 Hours. The overheat light comes on after about 10 minutes run time maybe a bit longer. The coolant is full. Fan is spinning with engine rpm and I am getting warm air out of the rear of the machine. After 20 or so minutes I used a laser thermometer and read around 200 at the cyclinder head inlet or outlet near the coolant temp sensor. The other hose connection is about 160-170 down near the alternator. (I assume that to be the inlet).

Q #1 What temp is the overheat light set to trigger?

Q #2 Is this machine actually overheating at these temps what is normal operating temp?

Q #3 Where should I head from here? The machine runs good, Seems to be burning oil which doens't bother me. I have very light infrequent use for it. But do not want to cook it.

Thank you!!

Ive had a few with this problem, the temp sensor at the back of the head is prone for going faulty. Some sensors are 2 wire some are 4 wire. Just remove sensor and get a new one from your local car spares shop. Its just a Volkswagen part.
