Linde H20D

Hi guys! I have a problem with a Linde H20D truck. Serial number 351909046320/1989. It is a single pedal model. When pushing the gas pedal the truck moves but quite slowly and does not seem to be able to pick up speed. After rolling for say 10-15 meters, it picks up some speed, but it lacks the kick it should normally have. I have just learned that we have a problem with the rockers push rods rubber covers - they are gone/melted. I have also realised that the engine gets hot very quickly, in a mater of 50 meters and there is a slight smell of burn rubber. Any ideas?

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! We have finally come to the bottom of this. It was not the coupling, but rather the engine was gone. The injector was not working properly, the injector nozzles were kind of blocked and the head gasket had to be replaced. It was purely a matter of an engine about to pack up. Now that all these have been sorted out, it runs again like a dream!

As Michel says, sounds like the drive coupling between the engine and drive pump has gone and is more than likely just gripping & slipping, that's why you have some drive and burning rubber.

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
