Raymond DSS300:
Lift Card Burnout

Have a DSS350, original issue was tilt and SS would slow down and quit after 5-6 cycles. The Lift motor will run normal speed, tilt works fine but after 5-6 cycles, the lift motor starts to slow down and eventualy just idles. didnt check amp draw yet. suspected may be the lift driver card, swapped it with a known good card. cycled tilt and after 3-4 times the card started smoking and burned out. Suspect the IGBT transistor is shorted.. any ideas ??

After the card burned out, it took out the VCM. There was a bulletin from raymond saying that anytime a component is removed from the lift heat sink it must be replaced with a new component. In this case the truck owner scrapped the truck due to the cost of VCM. Never did resolve the original problem unfortunately. sorry wasnt more help. The raymond tech that I spoke with said it was probably the IGBT on the heat sink starting to fail.
